Product Information
2,4-Dichloro-6-nitroquinoline is a synthetic compound that is an analog of serotonin. It acts as a competitive inhibitor of the serotonin transporter (SERT) and has been shown to have affinity for the cortical membrane in rats. 2,4-Dichloro-6-nitroquinoline is also able to inhibit synthesis of serotonin and other neurotransmitters in the brain. In addition, this drug can inhibit the release of dopamine from nerve terminals and presynaptic neurons, which may be due to its ability to block synaptic vesicles from releasing their contents into the synapse.
