The 1,14-diamino-3,6,9,12-tetraoxatetradecane (DAOT) molecule has been extensively studied as a model system to study topological and gelation properties of polymers. The DAOT molecule is homogeneous and has low molecular weight, which makes it suitable for use in optical studies.
