2,3-Dimethyl-1,3-butadiene is a diphenyl ether that has been stabilized with butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT). It is a reactive molecule that reacts with hydrogen fluoride to form the corresponding acid complex. The reaction mechanism of 2,3-dimethyl-1,3-butadiene is not well understood. 2,3-Dimethyl-1,3-butadiene can be polymerized by cationic polymerization to form poly(2,3-dimethyl-1,3-butadiene), which has an alternating head and tail structure. This polymer is used as a reactive agent in a wide range of applications including water vapor and metal hydroxides. It also has been shown to react with group P2 functionalities such as carboxylic acids and amines to form esters and amides respectively. 2,3 Dimethyl 1, 3 butadiene can be synthes
