Diethylene glycol d8 is a deuterated analog of diethylene glycol. It is synthesized from ethylene oxide and diethylene glycol by substitution of one hydrogen atom with deuterium. The sequences of this molecule have been determined, yielding a traceless product that can be used as a synthetic intermediate in the production of imidazoles.
