Diisostearyl malate is a synthetic substrate that is used to form fatty acid esters. It has been shown to have synergistic interactions with hydroxyl groups, which can be utilized for film-forming polymers. Diisostearyl malate also has the ability to control viscosity and has been used as a skin cell proliferator and in boron nitride magnetic particles. This product also exhibits synergistic interactions with skin cells, which may be due to its ability to increase the production of hydrogenated solid catalysts, such as boron nitride. Diisostearyl malate is also able to form polycarboxylic acids.
