Product Information
Name:Dihydrolevoglucosenone
Synonyms:
- Cyrene
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Dihydrolevoglucosenone is a diphenyl ether that has been shown to react with a variety of chemical compounds. It can be used as a hydrogen bond donor and acceptor, as well as in the formation of butyrolactones. FT-IR spectroscopy has been used to identify the coumarin derivatives present in dihydrolevoglucosenone. Dihydrolevoglucosenone has also been shown to be an efficient biological treatment for organic pollutants such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). It can be used in vitro to catalyze reactions, or in vivo when it is attached to a solid catalyst. The reaction solution is composed of water, dihydrolevoglucosenone, and an oxidant such as sodium hypochlorite or hydrogen peroxide. Multi-walled carbon nanotubes have been shown to be good cataly
