Trans-1,2-Dibromocyclohexane is a dibromide that has been shown to be an active bioactive molecule. It is also known as trans-1,2-dibromoethane. Trans-1,2-Dibromocyclohexane is an organic solvent and can react with sodium periodate to produce trichloroacetic acid, which in turn reacts with the vitamin b12 to generate reduction products. In the presence of a proton, trans-1,2-dibromocyclohexane reacts with myoglobin to form a molecule.
