Description:1,2,9,10-Diepoxydecane is a water-soluble epoxide that has the ability to cross membranes. It is used as an additive for surfactants and ionic liquids. 1,2,9,10-Diepoxydecane can be synthesized in two different ways: by reacting vinyl alcohol with epichlorohydrin or by reacting ethylene oxide with hydrogen peroxide. This compound is a good candidate as a crosslinking agent because it can form crosslinks in aqueous media. It is also an excellent surfactant because it can solubilize anionic surfactants and ionic additives.
