Daucene is a chemical compound with the following chemical structure:

Daucene is used in the manufacture of food products as a preservative. It has been shown to have antifungal effects against Cryptococcus neoformans and is also active against other fungi that produce mycotoxins, such as Aspergillus flavus. Daucene has been shown to be effective at inhibiting the growth of fungus in food products. It also has anti-inflammatory properties when applied topically, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. Daucene also inhibits fatty acid production by binding to fatty acid synthase enzymes and competitively inhibiting the substrate from binding.
