Description:Diglycidyl ether is a bisphenol epoxy resin that is used in the preparation of resins for coatings and adhesives. It has a high thermal expansion, allowing it to be used as an additive to plastics. Diglycidyl ether can also be used in analytical methods such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. Diglycidyl ether is biocompatible with cells and tissues. It has been found to be reactive towards DNA, proteins, and lipids, which may lead to its cytotoxicity against colorectal adenocarcinoma cells. Diglycidyl ether was found to affect the expression of adipogenesis genes in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes in vitro assays when tested on human serum samples.
