Product Information
- Decane-1,2,10-Triol
1,2,10-Decanetriol is a hydrophobic alcohol that is used in the synthesis of linear polymers and as a component of viscosity control agents. It can be synthesized from 1,2-dichloroethane by a transesterification reaction with methanol. 1,2,10-Decanetriol has also been proposed as an analog for cholesterol in membrane protein studies and is used in research on efficient methods for coding information. It is also used as an efficient method for synthesizing linear polymers. This chemical has been found to be effective at treating muscle spasms and intracameral hemorrhaging after eye surgery. It is also used posttransplantation to prevent rejection of transplanted organs and tissues.
