Description

Dexamethasone 17-propionate is a prodrug of dexamethasone that is converted to the active form in the liver. It is an adrenocortical steroid used for the treatment of inflammatory and allergic conditions, as well as many other disorders. Dexamethasone 17-propionate has been shown to be effective in reducing inflammation and suppressing immune responses, as well as decreasing erythrocyte sedimentation rates and plasma concentrations of C-reactive protein. The drug also has a long half-life which makes it useful for treating chronic conditions.
