The synthesis is scalable and can be immobilized in a ruthenium complex. The reactivity of this compound has been studied in kinetic experiments and molecular modeling simulations. 2,6-Dichloropyridine-1-oxide can form an epoxide with ethyl diazoacetate, which is used as the control experiment.
