Description:

2,6-Dicyclohexylphenol is an organic compound that is used as a synthetic antioxidant. It is also known as phenoxyethanol and can be found in cosmetics, sunscreens, and other products. 2,6-Dicyclohexylphenol reacts with chloride ions to form alkyl chloride compounds. Alkylation reactions are used in organic chemistry to make new compounds. The structural studies of 2,6-dicyclohexylphenol were performed by liquid phase chromatography and synthetic antioxidants were synthesized by reacting the hydroxyl group on 2,6-dicyclohexylphenol with benzene to produce phenoxybenzene. Crystallization experiments showed that 2,6-dicyclohexylphenol has a mononuclear ligand. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that 2,6-dicyclohexylphenol has a crystal structure with acidic properties.
