Description

Diethyl benzylmalonate is a particle that has been activated by hydrochloric acid. It is a reactive, malonic acid derivative that binds to the receptor site of an aryl halide and is used in horticultural and pharmaceutical preparations. Diethyl benzylmalonate can be used as an anti-inflammatory agent in treating inflammatory bowel disease. Diethyl benzylmalonate also has the ability to bind to metal chelate, which facilitates its use as a catalyst for hydrolysis of esters.
