Dihydro daidzein is a natural compound that belongs to the group of isoflavones. It has been shown to be an optical sensor, which can be used as a probe to detect various substances in human serum. The reaction mechanism of dihydro daidzein involves the oxidation of the double bond and the formation of a phenolic hydroxyl group, which then reacts with hydrogen peroxide and forms the corresponding hydroxyquinone. Dihydro daidzein also has physiological functions such as regulating lipid metabolism and reducing cholesterol levels in blood vessels. This compound also has biochemical properties that include antiviral activity and antibacterial activity against lactococcus. Furthermore, dihydro daidzein has surface methodology applications including high-value cyclase inhibitor assays and enzyme inhibition assays.
