Description:2,3-Dimethylaniline is a colorless liquid with an aromatic odor that is soluble in water and alcohol. It has a molecular weight of 122.15 g/mol and boils at 244 °C. 2,3-Dimethylaniline can be used to synthesize fatty acids by activation with hydrochloric acid. This chemical has been shown to have hemolytic activity and can be used as an intermediate for organic synthesis. 2,3-Dimethylaniline is also used in the production of dyes such as malachite green, acridine orange, and crystal violet. It is also used in the production of pharmaceuticals such as aminopyrine hydrochloride and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA).
