• Description: 1-[2-(2,4-Dichlorophenyl)-2-[(2,6-dichlorophenyl)methoxy]ethyl]-imidazole mononitrate (1,5-DCPEMI) is a new antimycotic drug that is effective against c. glabrata and other filamentous fungi. It has been shown to have good efficacy against fungal infections caused by wild-type strains of Candida albicans. 1,5-DCPEMI inhibits the synthesis of fatty acids in Candida albicans and other filamentous fungi, leading to cell death. This compound also has been shown to be an effective antibacterial agent against bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Proteus mirabilis.
