The ester linkages in 1,3-diisopropenylbenzene are susceptible to hydrolysis and oxidation, which can lead to degradation. 1,3-diisopropenylbenzene is stabilized with TBC by forming an ether linkage with the terminal hydroxyl group on TBC.
