Dihydro coumarin is a small molecule that binds to the response element of the c-raf gene and inhibits the production of protein kinase C. Dihydro coumarin has shown to have anticancer properties in vitro and in vivo, by inhibiting tumor growth and metastasis. It also shows potential as a pharmacological agent for treatment of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and Huntington's disease. Dihydro coumarin also has been shown to inhibit the activity of enzymes like phosphodiesterases and lipases.
