Description

Didecyl dimethyl ammonium bromide is an antimicrobial peptide that has high resistance to antibiotic-resistant strains. It is a phosphonate compound that is used in the analytical method of titration calorimetry. The didecyl dimethyl ammonium bromide molecule can be seen as having two reactive centers, one on the phosphorus atom and one on the methyl group. These reactive centers are involved in intramolecular hydrogen transfer reactions and transfer reactions with other molecules, leading to its antimicrobial activity.
