Description

4,4'-Dihydroxydiphenyl sulfide is a monocarboxylic acid that is used as a cross-linking agent. It reacts with the hydroxyl group of a molecule to form a new C-O-C bond. 4,4'-Dihydroxydiphenyl sulfide has been shown to react with human serum albumin and to form hydrogen bonds during the reaction. This product is soluble in nonpolar solvents such as benzene and chloroform.
