3,9-Divinyl-2,4,8,10-Tetraoxaspiro[5.5]undecane is an aromatic hydrocarbon that exists as a liquid at room temperature. It can be used to synthesize allyl carbonate from benzene and allyl chloride via a chemical reaction. 3,9-Divinyl-2,4,8,10-Tetraoxaspiro[5.5]undecane is reactive towards hydroxyl groups and will form a molecule with the addition of water vapor. The compound has been shown to form in polymer matrices in an acid environment. This compound also exists as a gel chromatography (GC) peak at 17 minutes and 36 minutes on the GC column.
