3,5-Diphenylpyrazole is a compound that belongs to the group of pyrazoles. It has been shown to have a basic structure, with a pyrazole ring and a carbonyl group. 3,5-Diphenylpyrazole also has two hydroxyl groups and two nitrogen atoms. The compound is soluble in organic solvents such as chloroform and benzene. 3,5-Diphenylpyrazole has been used in animal experiments for the treatment of pain caused by myelitis and nerve injury. 3,5-Diphenylpyrazole was found to inhibit the conversion of nitric oxide into nitrite and nitrate by hydrogen chloride. This inhibition prevents the accumulation of toxic levels of nitrite and nitrate in tissues surrounding nerves, which may lead to pain relief.
