Description:Dextropropoxyphene is a synthetic opioid analgesic that is used in the treatment of mild to moderate pain. Dextropropoxyphene also has some hallucinogenic effects and may be used as a recreational drug. Dextropropoxyphene can be detected in urine samples by gas chromatography with mass spectrometry (GC/MS). The clinical relevance of dextropropoxyphene is not fully understood, but it has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on inflammation and trigeminal neuralgia.
