This compound has shown antibacterial activity against some strains of bacteria, including group P2 bacteria. The reaction yield for the synthesis of this compound is approximately 93%. The inhibitory activities of 3,5-dibromo-4-hydroxybenzaldehyde have been demonstrated against both Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria.
