Product Information

Name:
DiMethylMethoxyphenylsilane
Synonyms:
  • Methoxy-Dimethyl-Phenyl-Silane
  • Silane, methoxydimethylphenyl-
Description:

DiMethylMethoxyphenylsilane (DMMPS) is a phenyl-functionalized silane used as a polymerization initiator. It has been shown to be an optimal reaction for the synthesis of polymers with aliphatic hydrocarbons, and can be used in the formation of uv absorbing polymers. DMMPS can also be used as a chlorine atom donor in the synthesis of polymers with hydroxyl groups. This substance has been shown to have a thermal expansion coefficient and an inorganic acid reactivity that are similar to those found in organic polymers, making it an effective solid catalyst for patterning polymer films. DMMPS is also photochemically active and can be used for polymer film patterning by UV irradiation.
