Description:
1,5-Dihydroxy-4,8-dinitroanthraquinone (1,5-DDA) is a reactive dyes that is used in the synthesis of other compounds. It has been shown to be expressed in human erythrocytes and to react with primary amines, alkali metal ions and sulfonic acid. 1,5-DDA reacts with primary amines to form a dichroic product. This reaction can be used for indexing purposes. 1,5-DDA also reacts with alkali metal ions to produce a dark blue color that changes to red when sulfonated or polyesterified.
