3,5-Dicaffeoylquinic acid is a caffeoyl quinic acid derivative that has been shown to inhibit the growth of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes in vitro. It does this by inhibiting signal pathways and inducing neuronal death. The optimum concentration for 3,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid was found to be 2mM. This compound also scavenges anion radicals and inhibits enzymatic activity in vitro. 3,5-Dicaffeoylquinic acid has significant cytotoxicity against human cancer cells.
