Description:1,1-Diphenylacetone is a molecule that belongs to the group of aromatic hydrocarbons. X-ray structures have shown that 1,1-diphenylacetone binds to metal ions such as copper or silver ions. This binding causes light emission when the metal ion is excited by an external source such as x-rays or visible light.
