Calcium sulfate anhydrous is a white, granular or crystalline solid that is insoluble in water. It is used to precipitate excess calcium ions from wastewater treatment and as a nutrient solution for plant growth. Calcium sulfate anhydrous contains two phases, one at high temperature and one at low temperature. The two phases can be distinguished by the critical point of hydrochloric acid, which is used to dissolve the solid. The reaction mechanism for the dissolution of calcium sulfate anhydrous was determined by kinetic data. For optimum concentrations, clinical properties, tissue culture, and clinical pathology studies have been conducted on calcium sulfate anhydrous nanoparticulate compositions that are easy to handle and can be administered without adverse effects.
