Description:

1,1-Dimethylurea is an organic compound that is a hydrogen bond donor. It is used as a plasticizer for polycarbonates and high-resistance rubber. 1,1-Dimethylurea can be activated by treatment with trypsin or hydrophilic interaction chromatography to form the corresponding carbamate ester. The carbamate ester of 1,1-dimethylurea has been shown to be effective in biological treatment of halides and pharmaceutical drugs. 1,1-Dimethylurea also has ferroelectric properties and can be used in the production of sulphamic acid and glutinoso compounds.
