Product Information
Name:1,3-Dibromobenzene
Synonyms:
- m-Dibromobenzene
Brand:Biosynth
Description:1,3-Dibromobenzene is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C6H4Br2. It is a colourless solid that is soluble in organic solvents and reacts readily with water. This compound has been used as a precursor to other organic compounds and can be synthesized by the cross-coupling of 1,3-dibromoethane with various organometallic reagents. The reaction requires calcium carbonate as a catalyst and produces 1,3-dibromobenzene in isolated yields. The synthesis of this molecule can also be achieved by hydrogenation reduction of 1,3-dibromopropane or through palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions with deionized water as solvent. The synthesis of this molecule can also be achieved by polymer film coating onto an electrode surface.
