• Description: 3,5-Dimethylpiperidine is a morpholine that is used in the synthesis of tilmicosin. This compound can be prepared by reacting aniline with nitroethane in the presence of a base. 3,5-Dimethylpiperidine can be purified through its acidic hydrolysis and amination reaction. The product of this reaction has a purity level of 98% or higher. 3,5-Dimethylpiperidine is used as an intermediate for pharmaceuticals and pesticides. It also shows potential use as an antihistamine and analgesic. 3,5-Dimethylpiperidine can be activated to form a reactive species which reacts with other molecules to produce new compounds or break down existing ones.
