Dimethylcarbamoyl chloride is mainly used as an analytical tool for the detection of carbonyl groups in molecules using chemical ionization (CI). Dimethylcarbamoyl chloride has also been shown to have anti-cancer properties due to its effects on choroidal neovascularization (a condition associated with eye diseases) by inhibiting vascular endothelial growth
