In vitro studies have shown that dodecafluoro-1,6-diiodohexane inhibits the proliferation of breast cancer cells and also induces apoptosis. The mechanism for this effect may be due to its ability to inhibit cycle analysis by interfering with the synthesis of cellular DNA and RNA, which prevents cell division.
