4,13-Diaza-18-crown 6-ether belongs to the class of crown ethers. It is a synthetic compound that has been shown to form stable complexes with metal ions such as copper and sodium. 4,13-Diaza-18-crown 6-ether has been shown to be effective in treating urinary tract infections, and it is also used as a membrane system for separation of organic compounds. 4,13-Diaza-18-crown 6-ether has been shown to have a transport rate through membranes that is 10 times faster than traditional crown ethers.
