Description:
3,6-Dibromothieno[3,2-b]thiophene is a semiconducting material that has been shown to have electron mobility of 1.5 cm2/Vs and an enhancement factor of ~5 in pyridine as the acceptor molecule. The compound is processed into thin films using chemical vapor deposition and shows potential for use in transistors. 3,6-Dibromothieno[3,2-b]thiophene is also a natural gas sensor that can be used to detect methane concentrations in the range of 0.1% - 10% by volume.
