Description:

Dipropyl adipate is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH3(CH2)4COOCH3. It is a colorless liquid with a faint fatty odor. Dipropyl adipate is used as an extraction solvent and in the manufacture of other chemicals, such as glycol ethers, polyvinyl butyral, and dibutyl phthalate. It is also used as a lubricant for plastic parts of various machines and instruments. The thermal expansion coefficient of dipropyl adipate is 2.2×10−5/°C at 25 °C.
