Dichlorodiphenylsilane is a chemical compound that has been used in wastewater treatment. It is stable in the presence of strong bases, such as hydrochloric acid and copper chloride, and can be easily converted to other compounds. Dichlorodiphenylsilane reacts with hydroxide ions to form a hydroxyl group, which is an acidic complex. This reaction occurs at a redox potential of -0.14 V. Dichlorodiphenylsilane also has a light emission property when heated, which can be useful for analytical purposes or detecting pollution in water samples. The Langmuir adsorption isotherm predicts the amount of dichlorodiphenylsilane that will bind to the receptor surface based on its concentration and the surface area of the receptor.
