2,3-Difluorobenzyl bromide is an optimised fluorinated probe for the design of new fluorinated drugs. It has a pharmacological profile that includes an oral route of administration and a binding site on the nucleus. 2,3-Difluorobenzyl bromide is synthesised by solid-phase synthesis and derivatisation with N-methylpiperazine. The pharmacokinetic properties have been analysed in both rats and dogs after oral administration. The probe was found to be rapidly absorbed and eliminated from the body.
