Description:

2,6-Diethylaniline is an organic chemical that is used in the manufacture of dyes and pharmaceuticals. It is metabolized by human liver microsomes to produce 2,4-diaminophenol and 2,4-diaminoanisole. 2,6-Diethylaniline has been shown to have genotoxic effects on bacteria due to its ability to inhibit fatty acid synthesis. This chemical also inhibits the growth of bacterial strains such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhimurium, and Staphylococcus aureus with an IC50 of 1 mM.
