Cis-4,7,10,13,16,19-docosahexaenoic acid methyl ester (DHA) is a polyunsaturated fatty acid that is obtained from fish oil. It has been shown to be an effective chemotactic agent for neutrophils and monocytes in vitro. DHA can also be used as a model system to study the effects of cyclopropanated fatty acids on inflammation. DHA is found in wastewater treatment solutions and biodiesel production reactions.
