Description

7,8-Dimethoxyflavone is a flavonoid that has shown to be an inhibitor of enzyme activity. It can be used for the treatment of cancer and microbial metabolism. 7,8-Dimethoxyflavone has been shown to inhibit telomerase activity and has been found to have anti-inflammatory effects in mice. 7,8-Dimethoxyflavone also inhibits 5-methoxyflavanone production in rats. This drug is also considered as a potential anticancer agent because it inhibits cancer cell proliferation by inhibiting DNA synthesis and protein synthesis.
