It has a Raman spectrum with peaks at 629, 635, and 702 nm. 1,1'-Diadamantyl can be analyzed by vibrational spectroscopy and it has been shown to have a skeleton with two hydroxy groups. This dye is soluble in organic solvents and it absorbs light of different wavelengths in the visible range. The constant for this compound is 2.65 x 10-6 L mol-1 cm-1 and its average particle diameter is about 25 nanometers.
