Product Information

Name:
3,4-Dimethoxycinnamic acid methyl ester
Description:

3,4-Dimethoxycinnamic acid methyl ester is a caffeate that has synergistic effects with other caffeates. It can be found in the plant Methoxy groups and salvianolic acid from Ipomoea carnea. 3,4-Dimethoxycinnamic acid methyl ester has been shown to have strong inhibitory effects against uredospore formation of the fungus Ustilago maydis and the growth of some bacteria. This molecule also inhibits the production of acidic molecules such as sinapic acid, which are produced by Streptomyces spp. 3,4-Dimethoxycinnamic acid methyl ester also inhibits NADH oxidation and ATPase activity in mitochondria from rat liver cells.
