Description:3,5-Dibromo-4-anisic acid (3,5-DA) is a brominated alkaloid that has been isolated from the Madagascan sponge Psammaplysilla. 3,5-DA is amphimedonine with an additional bromine atom. It has been highlighted in spectroscopy as a possible metabolite of psammaplysene due to its similar chemical structure. 3,5-DA is present in the marine environment and has been found to be a minor component of the sponge Psammaplysilla.
