Description:

3,5-Dinitrobenzhydrazide (DNBBH) is a chemical compound that is used as an anticancer agent. It has been shown to be effective in treating autoimmune diseases by inhibiting the production of aldehydes and reactive oxygen species, which causes oxidative stress in the body. DNBBH can be synthesized by refluxing 3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid with benzhydrazide. The resulting product can be purified by recrystallization from ethanol. This synthesis may also produce some impurities, such as 2-nitrobenzoic acid or 2-nitrodiphenylamine. These impurities are removed through recrystallization from chloroform or ether.
