2,3-Diphenylquinoxaline is a quinoxaline derivative that has been used as an ancillary in the amination reaction. It has shown antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The structure of 2,3-diphenylquinoxaline consists of two phenyl groups with a chlorine atom at the position ortho to the phenyl group on the benzene ring. This compound also contains nitrogen atoms and molybdenum which are essential for its photophysical properties. 2,3-Diphenylquinoxaline is able to form anions (negatively charged ions) with various metal ions such as copper(II) and silver(I).
