3,4-Diethoxybenzaldehyde is a molecule that can be immobilized on the surface of a carrier to form an adsorbent. 3,4-Diethoxybenzaldehyde has been shown to have antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Rhodococcus erythropolis. It is also used as an odorant binding agent. 3,4-Diethoxybenzaldehyde has been found to be metabolized into butyric acid and methoxy groups in bacteria. This molecule can be immobilized onto the surface of a carrier for use as an adsorbent for removal of organic pollutants from water or air.
